This 9-day adventure combines the magic of Tanzania’s top safari destinations with a relaxing island escape in Zanzibar. From elephant-rich Tarangire to the endless plains of the Serengeti and the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, this safari promises unforgettable wildlife encounters. The journey ends with a shorter but immersive stay in Zanzibar, where you’ll enjoy pristine beaches, spice tours, and the unique Jozani Forest. Day 1: Arrival - Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), our safari staff will warmly welcome you and transfer you to Pazuri Inn in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you can explore the town’s local markets or simply relax at the lodge as you prepare for your safari adventure.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park – Overnight at Eileen’s Lodge
Your safari kicks off with a drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its massive elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and diverse wildlife. Lions, zebras, wildebeests, and countless bird species thrive here, especially along the Tarangire River. By evening, settle in at Eileen’s Trees Inn, a peaceful lodge with lush surroundings.
Days 3–5: Serengeti National Park – Overnight at Kontiki Mobile Camp
Spend three incredible days exploring the Serengeti, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world’s greatest wildlife sanctuaries. Depending on the season, you might witness the Great Migration, as millions of wildebeests and zebras journey across the plains. Predator action is always on display here, from lions to cheetahs and leopards. Your stay at Kontiki Mobile Camp immerses you in the raw beauty of the savannah, offering comfort and closeness to nature.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater – Overnight at Eileen’s Lodge
Today you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest unbroken volcanic caldera. Known as “Africa’s Garden of Eden,” the crater floor is home to an incredible density of wildlife, including the Big Five. After a full day of game viewing, return to Eileen’s Trees Inn for a restful evening.
Day 7: Fly Arusha → Zanzibar – Overnight at Aluna Nungwi Beach (FB)
After breakfast, board a short flight to Zanzibar, where turquoise waters and palm-fringed beaches await. Transfer to Aluna Nungwi Beach Hotel, located in the north of the island, and spend the afternoon relaxing on pristine white sands. Dinner and overnight on full board.
Day 8: Beach Relaxation + Jozani Forest & Spice Tour – Overnight at Aluna Nungwi Beach (FB)
Spend the morning unwinding by the beach or swimming in the Indian Ocean. Later, explore Jozani Forest, home to the rare red colobus monkey, followed by a spice plantation tour where you’ll discover the island’s rich spice heritage. Return to Aluna Nungwi Beach Hotel for dinner and a peaceful night.
Day 9: Transfer to Zanzibar Airport – Departure
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Zanzibar International Airport for your flight home or onward journey. This marks the end of your unforgettable Safari & Zanzibar Escape, filled with wilderness encounters and tropical relaxation.
